Short Short Reflection 81

Take the Next Responsible Step

Reflection 81 · On Moving Through Uncertainty

1-min read · Looking Inward

Some problems become overwhelming because we try to solve the entire future at once. We want to know how the business will recover, whether the new direction will succeed, or when uncertainty will finally end. Often, those answers are not yet available.

I have learned that when the future becomes too large to carry, it helps to return to the next responsible step. What needs to be understood today? Who needs an honest conversation? Which obligation cannot be postponed? What action would preserve the possibility of a better decision tomorrow?

The next step may not provide relief or prove that the direction is correct. But it gives responsibility a form that can be acted upon.

We do not always move through uncertainty by seeing the entire path. Sometimes we move because the next part of the path is clear enough.

When the whole future cannot be solved, responsibility begins with the next step that should not be avoided.
