Physical strength is often associated with appearance or athletic performance. As life progresses, I have come to understand it differently.
Strength is the ability to continue participating in ordinary life without unnecessary dependence. To carry what needs carrying. To move with confidence. To travel, work and remain involved in the experiences that still matter to us.
Health technology can measure many things, but numbers are most useful when they connect to a life we want to remain capable of living.
The goal is not to compete with an earlier version of ourselves. It is to preserve the freedom to keep showing up for the present one.
Strength becomes meaningful when it supports participation, not comparison.
The deepest value of strength is not how powerful the body appears, but how much life it still allows us to carry for ourselves.
